and welcome to The Modern Music Recordist.

Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Nick Franklin, and I am a musician and audio engineer from Sydney, Australia. I play guitar and sing in a band called The Wait Ups, and am part owner in Freaky Arm Recording Studios.

So what is this blog all about? As most audio engineers probably do, I feel we all have knowledge and technique that we can pass about to other audio engineers, and as a result we can all make better recordings. By documenting some of my ideas about recordings, and by posting pictures, sound clips and videos on this blog, hopefully aspiring and professional engineers alike can pick up something they can use.

On the flip side, If you disagree with any of my opinions or ideas, feel free to comment, because I am here to learn too. If however you appear too clever for me and I can't win the argument, I will simply delete your comments.
